The judge in the Anna Nicole Smith drug trial slammed prosecutors yesterday for their aggressive pursuit of convictions against three people accused of plying the actress with prescription drugs before her 2007 death.

Millionaire Segway owner dies in cliff fall

The British millionaire businessman who owns the firm Segway has been found dead at the bottom of a cliff with one of the two-wheeled electric scooters near his body, police said yesterday.

Jimi Heselden, 62, who bought the US-based firm, and who was also chairman of Hesco Bastion, was discovered in a river near Leeds, northern England, on Sunday.

The incident, described as a freak accident in the media, was not being treated as suspicious. A Segway was found near his body, a police spokeswoman said. “It is with great sadness that we have to confirm that Jimi Heselden has died in a tragic accident near his home in West Yorkshire,” Hesco Bastion said in a statement.

Lindsay Lohan's current film is up in the air after an arrest warrant was issued for the Hollywood actress.

Film bosses for the Linda Lovelace biopic Inferno, which stars the troubled 24-year-old as the infamous porn actress, are unsure as to whether production will continue."The current analysis of how to proceed cannot be concluded until the court decision is known," producer Chris Hanley told E! News.He declared that, should the show go on, she will have to stay sober.

"Formally, the terms of the acting services agreement would be such that Lindsay would not violate any obligation she would have to fulfil with the court, with her probation, or with the production insurance," Chris added.

"Informally, as far as I am concerned that would include being 100 per cent sober, yes. The actual contractual wording would be more legal to include making sure the movie production would not be compromised in any way."

Director Matthew Wilder said despite the constant change in the production schedule, the cast and crew are pulling together."Every other part of the prep is going on regardless. It will work out one way or another," he said.

Angelina Jolie on Wednesday condemned a Florida church's threat to burn copies of the Muslim holy book to mark the ninth anniversary of the Sept. 11 attacks.

The 35-year-old actress spoke out against the proposed burning during a trip to Pakistan to raise awareness about the floods that have devastated the largely Muslim country over the last six weeks. She visited in her capacity as a goodwill ambassador for the U.N.'s refugee agency.

Australian beauty queen Jesinta Campbell, who came third in the Miss Universe pageant on Monday, has been sent a box of vegan chocolate sheep after deciding not to wear lamb's wool clothing at the event.

Mandela charity trustee quits over Campbell gems

Nelson Mandela charity trustee Jeremy Ractliffe has resigned after admitting to keeping uncut diamonds he received from British supermodel Naomi Campbell in 1997.

Ractliffe, who was head of the Nelson Mandela Children’s Fund (NMCF) at the time, owned up to having the gems after Campbell mentioned them in testimony at The Hague war crimes trial of former Liberian leader Charles Taylor.

Prosecutors had been trying to prove the gems were “blood diamonds” given to Campbell by Taylor after a charity dinner in Johannesburg. The model said she did not know the anonymous donor of the “dirty looking pebbles”.
