7-year-old calls 911, saves family from attack
A terrified 7-year-old boy begged emergency dispatchers to send police to his Southern California home where three armed robbers threatened his parents, according to a recording of the call released Tuesday.
Gunmen broke into the boy's home Tuesday morning and announced that they would take whatever they wanted, Los Angeles County sheriff's Lt. Steve Kenny said.
The boy and his 6-year-old sister hid unnoticed in the locked bathroom while the suspects threatened his mother and father at gunpoint.
"There's some guy who's going to kill my mom and dad," he said breathlessly. "Bring cops. A lot of them! ... And soldiers, too."
The suspects eventually broke into the bathroom and someone screamed. The 911 operator sounded shaken as she explained what happened to her colleagues.
Kenny said the suspects grabbed the boy and asked who he called. He responded, "911." The gunmen fled without taking anything or injuring the family.
"If not for the brave and educated actions of the 7-year-old boy, this might have ended tragically," said sheriff's Capt. Pat Maxwell.
Authorities in Norwalk are looking for three suspects wanted in a brazen home invasion robbery thwarted by a brave 7-year-old boy.
Three suspects armed with handguns entered the home through an unlocked front door Tuesday morning and said they were there to take what they wanted, according to Norwalk sheriff's deputies.
The boy, who the suspects did not know was in the house, locked himself in a bathroom with his younger sister and called 9-1-1 while the suspects threatened his parents at gunpoint.
On the recording, he begs the operator to send police quickly, "a lot of them... And bring soldiers too."
As the boy explained what was happening to the dispatcher, the suspects realized someone was in the bathroom and forced entry.
Screaming is heard on the tape as one of the suspects grabs the boy and takes the phone from him.
The suspect asked the boy who he had called, and when he replied "9-1-1," the suspects immediately fled the house without injuring him or his parents and without taking any property.
"If not for the brave and educated actions of the 7-year-old boy, this might have ended tragically," said Capt. Pat Maxwell of the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.
The suspects fled in a Grey Acura RXS 2-door vehicle.
The first suspect is a Hispanic male between 18 and 21 with a shaved head, about 5'8" and 200 lbs. He was wearing a baggy blue shirt and dark pants.
The second suspect is a Hispanic male, also between the ages of 18 and 21, about 6'0" and 230 lbs. He was last wearing a blue short-sleeved shirt over a white t-shirt.
And the third suspect is a Hispanic male, approximately 200 lbs., between 18 and 21 years old. He was wearing dark clothing.

A British toddler has been found dead after going missing when a tsunami hit the South Pacific island of Samoa.
The two-year-old's parents were receiving consular assistance at the New Zealand High Commission, Samoa's British Honorary Consulate said.
The Foreign Office (FO) confirmed a British national had died after the disaster struck on Tuesday.
A series of tsunamis triggered by quakes have killed more than 100 people in Samoa, American Samoa and Tonga.
A FO spokeswoman said: "We can confirm the sad death of a British national in Samoa."
British Honorary Consulate Dr Stephen Rogers, based in Apia in the north of the island, said there were no other reports of UK casualties.
"We have a number of British people who have lost all their possessions," he said.
"We've also had calls from a number of Brits in different accommodation who are claiming to be okay. We've had calls from the UK about people we've got no information about."
About 20 Britons are thought to have been on Samoa at the time the tsunami struck.
Dr Rogers said the initial quake shook the entire island and damaged buildings, but added that the devastation was largely confined to the south east.
He said 36ft (11m) waves swept inshore about half an hour after the quake, washing away anything in its path, including roads and houses.
He also said he managed to pick up five Britons in their 20s and 30s - including three tourists.
The tremor, with a magnitude of between 8 and 8.3, struck about 120 miles from American Samoa.
Samoan officials say whole villages have been destroyed with thousands reportedly left homeless in American Samoa.

Athens on Fire..Thousands home affected.
Several thousand residents of Athens' northern suburbs have evacuated their homes as several wildfires continue to blaze around the Greek capital.
Almost the entire population of Agios Stefanos, 23km (14 miles) north-east of Athens, fled by vehicle or on foot.
Multiple fires have been burning across an area some 50km wide, fanned by strong and unpredictable winds.
Firefighting efforts were suspended as darkness fell on Sunday, with several major blazes still burning into the night, although no casualties have been reported.
"The constant shift in the wind's direction is rekindling the flames," fire brigade spokesman Giannis Kapakis told Reuters news agency. "We must all remain calm through this night."
Dozens of homes were burnt down and a state of emergency was declared in the Athens area.

This is the CL 215 or 415 aka Super Scooper, the suck water from the sea and used in to doze fire. Able to scoop (suck ) 6,400 liters of water in 12 seconds , mix it foam if required and then drop it at firespot..all without going to airport to refill. Notice it is able to do it while guiding on the water. Mininum of 410 meter of water streth is required. Able to suck at even 2 meter deep of water only..It is still flying while sucking water hence not necessary straigh water source is required it can flying around while sucking water.

Gale-force winds hampered firefighting efforts for a second day as the flames encroached on the city's outer suburbs. Officials appealed to residents to evacuate but some Athenians remained in their homes to try to battle the inferno with hoses and buckets.
The Greek government has appealed for help from Italy, France and Cyprus. State-run institutions, including the children's hospital in Pendeli, were abandoned as the flames spread.
"What we are facing is a huge ordeal," said prime minister Kostas Karamanlis. "A massive effort by authorities is taking place to deal with this very difficult challenge."
Environmentalists said that the blazes had caused "biblical damage" to an estimated 120,000 hectares of virgin fir and prime forest. Scores of homes in well-heeled north-eastern Athens were also reported to have been gutted. The scenes evoked memories of the devastating fires of 2007, in which up to 70 people were killed. Greeks are now asking how their country could still appear so unprepared for a similar disaster.
"There is no coordination between the police, fire fighters or local authorities. It's chaos," said Yiannis Nikitopoulos, the mayor of Anixi, one of the affected suburbs. He added that he had "no doubt" that most of the fires now afflicting Athens were the work of arsonists determined to clear land for developers.
