Wrestling star Hulk Hogan is left pouring with blood after coming to blows with his arch enemy Ric Flair.

The ugly scenes erupted after the pair traded insults about their failed love lives during a press conference in Australia.

But it is believed it was a staged fight - known as a 'work' among wrestling fans - in a bid to stoke some publicity as they launched their tour of the country.

t is thought Hogan, 56, 'bladed', cutting himself to start a flow of blood which then poured down his face and all over his white T-shirt.

Australian media groups were unsure what to make of the incident, with many reporting it as a serious bust-up.

According to local reports, one photographer had his flash broken when Flair threw a table off the stage and into the press gathering before diving on photographers.

As Flair laid into Hogan, his head began to bleed 'profusely' and the wrestler appeared unable to get to his feet.

The two wrestling icons are heading up the HulkaMania: Let The Battle Begin tour Down Under.

The match-up between the pair is eagerly anticipated, especially since the Hogan has never wrestled in Australia during his 31-year career.

Hulk - who recently divorced wife Linda - said: 'The fans here have stuck with me through the highs and lows.

'In the last couple of years my personal life got flipped upside-down and the fans stayed with me through everything, so what better place to start over than right here.'

Flair, 60, who last week got married for the fourth time, said of the match: 'Two guys are going to walk down that aisle.

One will walk back. I've never, ever not made it back down that aisle.'

Others on the tour include former WWE superstars Rikishi, The Nasty Boys, Shannon Moore, Umaga, Mr Kennedy and Val Venis.

Once the tour is finished, Hogan is off to work for TNA and Flair is rumoured to be following him.
